  1. The Surah al-Kafirun is equal to one-quarter of the whole of the Quran al-Kareem. The Surah gives the Muslim the lesson to stick with your Iman when you are in a society with non-Muslims who are hostile against Islam. If the non-Muslims deny accepting the message of Islam, you should not bother and stick to what is given to you by the Prophet peace be upon him. The Meanings of the Four Quls

Chapter 109 – Surah Al-Kafiroun (The Unbeliever)

“ Say: O Al-Kafiroun ( disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, in His Angels, in His Books, in His Messengers, in the Day of Resurrection, and in Al-Qadar, etc )! I worship not that which you worship, Nor will you worship that which I worship. And I shall not worship that which you are worshipping. Nor will you worship that which I worship. To you be your religion and to me my religion (Islamic Monotheism). “

The rewards of reciting the four Quls

Qul

The Messenger of Allah – SallAllahu alayhi wa sallam – said: “O Ibn Aabis, shall I tell you about the best protection used by those who seek it.”

He said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah.

He (PBUH) said: “Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak.” and ‘Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind.’ It is included in these two surahs.” [Abu Dawood]

Aisha (RA) reported that whenever the Prophet – SallAllahu alayhi wa sallam – went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over them after reciting surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times. [Bukhari]

Al-Bukhaari (6643) narrated from Abu Sa’eed that a man heard another man reciting Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad and repeating it. The next morning he came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and told him about that. The man thought that it was too little, but the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, it is equivalent to one-third of the Quran.”

Whoever recites these three Surahs three times in the morning and in the evening, they will suffice him against everything. [Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi]

Surah Al-Ikhlas

Muadh bin Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Whoever recites (Qul Hu Allahu Ahad) ten times, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”

Its recitation is compared to reciting a third of the Holy Quran.

Surah An-Nas

Surah an-Nas and al-Falaq are together called Maudhatayn. Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (AS) said, whoever recites this surah in his house every night, will be kept safe from Jinn and the evil of Shaitan.

Reciting the Maudhatayn before sleeping is a means of safety and if recited on any part of the body that is paining, the pain will be relieved.

Surah Al-Falaq

The Prophet (PBUH) used to seek refuge from the jinn as well as from the evil eye until Surah al Falaq and An Naas were revealed. When they were sent down, he utilized them and left other things. (Tirmidhi 1984 )

It is narrated by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that whoever recites this Surah in the month of Ramadan in any of his prayers; it is as if he has fasted in Makah and he will get the reward for performing Hajj and Umrah.

According to one riwaayah “Recite these two Surahs (Surah Falaq and Surah Nas) when you go to sleep and when ‘you wake up”.

Surah Al-Kafiroun

The Prophet (SAW) said, “Recite Surah Al- Kafiroon and then go to sleep after coming to its end, for it is a clearance from shirk”. (Abu Dawud 4396)

If a person dies after reciting this Surah, it is as if he has died as a martyr.
